METHOD FOR CULTURING AND ESTABLISHING CELL STRAIN OF UNDIFFERENTIATED CELL DERIVED FROM EMBRYO OF MAMMAL USING SERUM-FREE CULTURE MEDIUM-FEEDERLESS CELL LINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing an undifferentiated cell derived from an embryo of a mammal by which the undifferentiated cell derived from an early embryo of the mammal such as cattle is effectively cultured and a cell strain is effectively established, a method for establishing the cell strain and a method for preparing a clone of the mammal.

SOLUTION: The early embryo (an emryo of a blastocyte phase) is cultured by utilizing a substrate of an extracellular matrix protein such as collagen and further utilizing an improved serum-free culture medium. Thereby, the culture of the undifferentiated cell having a good extension and proliferation ability even in the undifferentiated cell of the mammal such as an undifferentiated cell derived from a bovine embryo and the establishment of the cell strain are carried out. The methods for culturing the undifferentiated cell and establishing the cell strain are combined with a cloning technique to thereby prepare a nuclear transplanted clone by using the undifferentiated cell strain established from the early embryo of livestock such as the cattle.
