PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that coating irregularities due to the slack of a flexible support itself occurs and wrinkles and coating stripes are caused in transportation due to its low thickness and softness in high-speed coating using a film sheet (flexible support) of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) base in a thickness of 1.5-5.0μm. SOLUTION: In a coater 50, the ejection port coating surface 4a of a coating head 4 is pressed to the surface 1b of the film sheet 1 roughly at an approximately middle part between support rolls 2 and 3, and a coating liquid 5 is applied to the surface 1b from the slit 4b at the ejection port coating surface 4a. An upstream side expander roll 7 and a downstream side expander roll 8 are provided. In the front view, distances L1 and L2 straight lines between the center of the ejection port coating surface 4a and the centers of the respective supporting shafts 7a and 8a of the upstream side expander roll 7 and the downstream side expander roll 8 are set to be within the width B of the film sheet 1 (L1, L2≤B).
