PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen separator which has a supporter having adequate mechanical strengths and causes no reduction of oxygen permeability by the reaction between an oxygen permeation membrane and the supporter, and no cracks and peeling in the oxygen permeation membrane due to the difference of the thermal expansion coefficients between the oxygen permeation membrane and the supporter. SOLUTION: The oxygen separator comprises the oxygen permeation membrane composed of a perovskite-type ceramic oxide expressed by the chemical formula: ABO<SB>3</SB>(wherein, A is a 12 oxygens-coordinated metal component; B is a 6 oxygens-coordinated metal component; and A/B=1 in molar ratio), and the supporter supporting the oxygen permeation membrane and composed of a porous ceramics expressed by the formula; ABB'O<SB>3</SB>(wherein, B' is a 6 oxygens-coordinated metal component and B'/(A+B)<0.15), wherein B' is added to the oxygen permeation membrane composition.
