摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst capable of suppressing sulfur poisoning and capable of keeping a high NO<SB>x</SB>occluding capacity even after high temperature endurance. <P>SOLUTION: A noble metal and an NO<SB>x</SB>occluding material are supported on a thin layer 2 comprising TiO<SB>2</SB>fine particles formed by bonding a titanium type coupling agent to the surfaces of basic oxide particles and heating titanium- containing particles. The contact of the NO<SB>x</SB>occluding material and exhaust gas becomes possible even if the NO<SB>x</SB>occluding material enters the thin layer 2 to form a solid solution. Sulfur poisoning is suppressed by the thin layer 2 of TiO<SB>2</SB>being an acidic oxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
