<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb filter having a high strength, low in pressure loss, increased in trap quantity and excellent in regeneration efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic honeycomb filter comprises a porous ceramic sintered body having a large number of cells extending in the filter axial direction. The cell wall 13 for constituting each of the cells has a core layer 21 and coating layers 22 formed on both surfaces of the core layer 21.
