PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trimming chip cutting method capable of considering the service life of a cutting edge provided on a drum of a chopper, and decreasing the carrying-out frequency of a chips storage bag for storing chopper chips. SOLUTION: A metallic belt 20 is trimmed, and a trimming chip 5 is transported to a position between a pair of drums 9, 10 of a chopper 8 so as to be cut by the chopper. In this trimming chip cutting method, the rotation speed of the pair of drums of the chopper is changed according to the thickness and/or the width of the metallic belt. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
