<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide good ball characteristics, such as a feel of hitting a ball and controllability, to provide a ball having excellent shearing, cutting and cracking resistances and to provide a method which associates with the manufacturing of a golf ball layer and provides the ball having these characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A specific triblock copolymer or its hydrogenation product, a base material polymer and polymer improving agent are compounded with the layer of the golf ball. The triblock copolymer has a first polymer block including an aromatic vinyl compound, a second polymer block including a diene compound and a hydroxyl group arranged at the block copolymer.
