PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dramatically improve the stability of a cutting insert on a holder in a conventional cutting tool composed of the holder made by raising a receiving wall at a rear part of a flat installing seat having a female screw hole, and the cutting insert having a through hole penetrating in a front and back direction, setting the cutting insert in the installing seat, inserting a screw in the through hole, and fastening the screw by inserting in the female screw hole of the installing seat. SOLUTION: In the above mentioned cutting tool, a fastening force converting means for dividing the fastening force of a screw acting on the cutting insert into force acting in the installing seat 3 direction and force acting in the receiving wall 4 direction, is formed. The cutting insert 5 is press-contacted with both of the installing seat 3 and the receiving wall 4 by the fastening force of the screw. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
