PURPOSE: A magnetic tape guide of a tape recorder is provided to guarantee horizontal running of a magnetic tape with a small number of components. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic tape guide of a tape recorder includes a pair of pole base assemblies for contacting a magnetic tape with a head drum(120) when a tape cassette is loaded, and a tension pole assembly(231) for applying tension to the magnetic tape when the magnetic tape is ejected from the tape cassette. A pole base assembly(235) at a supply reel among the one pair of pole base assemblies is composed of a pole base(236) set inside a deck(210), and a slant pole(237) having the first guide for controlling the top and bottom positions of running magnetic tape. The tension pole assembly includes a tension arm(232) placed inside the deck, and the second guide for controlling the top and bottom position of the running magnetic tape. The magnetic tape is running, having a specific distance from the bottom face of the deck according to the tension pole assembly and pole base assemblies.
