PURPOSE: A deflection yoke is provided to achieve improved sensitivity, productivity of coil and reliability of design of deflection coil having a square cross section. CONSTITUTION: A deflection yoke comprises a horizontal deflection coil(120) for deflecting, in a horizontal direction, the electron beam emitted from an electron gun of a CRT; a vertical deflection coil(110) for deflecting, in a vertical direction, the electron beam emitted from the electron gun of the CRT; a ferrite core(130) for improving magnetic efficiency by reducing losses of the magnetic force generated from the horizontal and vertical deflection coils; and a holder(100) for fixing the horizontal deflection coil, vertical deflection coil and the ferrite core at predetermined positions and allowing for an insulation between the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil. The horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil have square cross sections, and the ferrite core has a circular cross section. The distance(X) between the outside of the holder and the inner surface of the vertical deflection coil in the vertical axis is defined as 0<X<Y-Z, wherein Y is the distance between the outside of the holder and the inner surface of the ferrite core in the vertical axis, and Z is the thickness of the vertical deflection coil in the vertical axis.
