摘要 PURPOSE: A handover method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to memorize cell information according to a life pattern of a terminal user, so as to effectively search cells and enable handover with information of few cells on the same path. CONSTITUTION: If a cell information setup command is inputted in a terminal by a user(S101), information of a current cell is stored(S102). Monitoring cells are periodically measured(S103), to search a cell better than the current cell(S104). The searched cell is selected(S108) and information of the searched cell is stored(S102) then monitoring cells are periodically measured(S103) until the cell information setup command is released(S105). If the cell information according to the path of a user is registered(S106), the registered cell information(S107) is used in cell search and handover on the same path. A cell information tracking mode is set and decided by the user(S201,S202). If manual cell information tracking is decided, the user selects a path(S203). Whether the current cell exists on the selected path is decided(S204). If not, the cell information tracking mode is released(S214) and a change to a normal cell search and handover process is performed(S215). If automatic cell information tracking is decided, the cell information including the terminal is searched on the registered path(S205) to decide whether the current cell exists on the pre-registered path(S206). If not, the step S214 is returned, and if exists, the path is selected(S207). A position of the current cell is detected on the path(S209) and cell tracking on the path is started(S209). Only two cells adjacent to the current cell on the path are periodically measured(S210) by using the cell information(S107). Whether a cell better than the current cell is detected is decided(S211). If so, the detected cell is selected and handover is performed(S212) then the step S210 is returned, and if not detected, whether a measured value of the current cell is smaller than a predetermined threshold is decided(S213). If so, the step S214 and S215 are returned.
