PURPOSE: A direct-coupled washing machine is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the cleaning efficiency by using an outer-rotor-way induction motor as a motor of a washing machine. CONSTITUTION: A casing(11) has a barrel shape. An outer barrel(13) is supported by a supporting rod(12) in the casing(11) and accommodates wash water. A washing barrel(14) is provided within the outer barrel(13). A pulsator(15) is mounted on a bottom of the washing barrel(14) so as to be rotated. A washing motor(16) is mounted on a lower of the outer barrel(13) to generate a rotary power. A driving axis assembly(17) is coupled to a rotor(16B) of the washing motor(16) to transfer the rotary power to the washing barrel(14) and the pulsator(15). A rotary axis(18) is coupled to an end of the washing barrel(14). A pulsator rotary axis(19) is inserted into the rotary axis(18) to be coupled to the pulsator(15). A rotary axis connecting unit(20) deliveries the rotary power of the washing motor(16) to the rotary axis(18) and the pulsator rotary axis(19). A coupling(31) moves along an axis of the driving axis assembly(17) and is coupled to the rotary axis(18) or the pulsator rotary axis(19). A coupling elevation lever(32) elevates the coupling(31) in length direction. An elevation lever driving unit(33) makes the coupling elevation lever(32) rotated on the centering around an axis(52b) of a lower bearing housing(52).
