PURPOSE: A roller for continuously hot dip coating strip is provided in which the roller has low reactivity with molten metal to suppress formation of dross and further improve wear resistance and thermal shock resistance at the same time, and a method for chemical density coating of the roller are provided. CONSTITUTION: In a roller(100) for continuously hot dip coating strip which is dipped into a hot dip coating bath for continuously coating the strip to support the strip so that the strip is transferred, and on the surface of matrix(110) of which spray coating film layer(120) is coated, the roller(100) for continuously hot dip coating strip comprises a chemical density layer(130) formed on the spray coating film layer by coating a composite coating material comprising a mixture of boron nitride and chromium oxide (Cr2O3) for chemical density treating the spray coating film layer on the spray coating film layer in such a way that the composite coating material is laid up on the spray coating film layer(120), wherein the chemical density layer(130) is formed by drying the coating solution coated on the spray coating film layer after coating a coating solution prepared by mixing aqueous chromic acid solution in which distilled water is mixed with chromic anhydride (Cr2O3) is mixed with boron nitride in a weight ratio of 1:1 on the spray coating film layer, wherein the aqueous chromic acid solution is prepared by mixing distilled water with chromic anhydride (Cr2O3) in a weight ratio of 1:1.25, and wherein the chemical density layer has thickness ranging from 0.01 to 0.03 mm.
