PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive composition capable of maintaining the adhesion and gel time at sufficient levels, imparting a moderate plasticity to an adhesive, thereby improving the processability after curing and preventing the cracking. SOLUTION: This adhesive composition comprises the following components (A) and (B) at (95/5) to (40/60) weight ratio of the components (A)/(B) and a component (C) in an amount of 5-50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total amount of the components (A) and (B): (A) a precondensate of resorcinol and formaldehyde or a precondensate of resorcinol, phenol and formaldehyde, consisting essentially of the resorcinol and prepared by replacing a part of the resorcinol with the phenol, (B) an aqueous emulsion comprising a copolymer containing an ethylene-vinyl acetate-based copolymer having ethylene and vinyl acetate as essential constituent components at (3/97) to (40/60) weigh ratio of the ethylene/vinyl acetate as a copolymer component and (C) a formaldehyde-based curing agent or a hexamethylenetetramine-based curing agent. Furthermore, the vinyl acetate which is the constituent component of the component (B) may be vinyl chloride. |
