PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular navigation device for searching a route for a vehicle to be capable of reaching a destination in the shortest time. SOLUTION: When a traffic jam or the like is anticipated and a zone desired for avoidance for a travel exists, a user operates an operation part 3 to set a travel avoidance zone setting mode. As a result, a rectangular cursor is shown on a display device 4, together with a map image. Then, the rectangular cursor is moved to the travel avoidance zone and a setting key on the operation part 3 is pressed. Then, a road within the established travel avoidance zone is excluded from a searching object at a process for searching a guidance route, using map data used out from CD-ROM 1 to a buffer memory 11, and an optimum route is searched. Furthermore, the shortest route may be searched after weighting the distance of a travel road, so as to correspond to the number of signals existing at intersections for a straight travel, among signals existing along the road. |
