PURPOSE: An electric system having a standby power supply is provided to control the operation of a main power source part by a driving power generated from a standby power source part, thereby reducing the number of required parts and realizing a simple circuit arrangement. CONSTITUTION: An electric system having a standby power supply includes an AC rectifying part(510) for rectifying an AC commercial power to output a first DC power, a standby power source part(600) for generating a driving power from the first DC power to carry out a first SMPS operation by the driving power and output a second DC power according to a winding rate, a main power source part(500) for carrying out a second SMPS operation by the driving power and converting the first DC power to a second DC power according to the winding rate to supply to a load, a mode conversion part(700) for supplying or blocking the driving power from the standby power source part to the main power source part in response to a mode conversion control signal, and a microcomputer(900) supplied with the second DC power and outputting the mode conversion control signal to the mode conversion part according to a mode conversion command detected by monitoring external inputs.
