PURPOSE: A display device and a method for controlling the same are provided to display OSD messages corresponding to a predetermined image signal in a corresponding display area while displaying a plurality of image signals to a multi-screen, thereby preventing the interference of display areas for image signals provided from a video card by the OSD messages. CONSTITUTION: A display device includes a storing part in which display blocking conditions are preset according to the watching grade information of respective image signals, an OSD generating part(19), and a control part(17). The control part blocks the display of image signals if any one of the image signals corresponds to the display blocking condition, and receives position information on a display area for the corresponding image signal from a synchronization processing part to display signal blocking messages output from the OSD generating part to the display area. |
