PURPOSE: A method for controlling the vehicle speed of a vehicle is provided to improve responsiveness on an uneven road of repeated slope and ramp and the fuel efficiency of a vehicle by maintaining the stable vehicle speed on a ramp. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the vehicle speed of a vehicle comprises the steps of deciding the soft speed limit control condition(S310), deciding the condition for the performance of the soft speed limit control motion in the soft speed limit control condition(S312,S314), and canceling the soft limit control motion after performing the soft speed limit control motion if the soft speed limit control motion performing condition is satisfied(S316-S320).
