PURPOSE: An automatic water gate is provided to promote the conservation of a natural ecosystem by making fishes move easily, to protect swimmers in a river, to improve the water quality by discharging the deposited pollutant and to remove floating matters easily. CONSTITUTION: The automatic water gate for removing floating matters easily and discharging water without opening a water gate by the function of a siphon passage comprises bearing structures(100) installed horizontally on a channel, a water gate body(1) placed between the bearing structures(100) to be inclined, an inlet formed on the lower side of the drainage side of the water gate body(1) to let the lower part of a river flow in and discharge, and a siphon passage formed on the upper side of the inlet to be connected with an outlet to let the water flew in from the upper stream of a river discharge toward the rear side of the water gate body(1) through the siphon passage at the closed state of the water gate body(1).
