PURPOSE: A format conversion method is provided to remove complicated analog filters used outside and carry out stable A/D conversion function without any complicated PLL functions. CONSTITUTION: A format conversion method includes an A/D converter(301) for over-sampling of input images into over-sampled clocks to digitalize the input images, an image formatting part(302) for converting the over-sampled images output from the A/D converter into normal images equal to the originally input images by reducing the horizontal resolution thereof, and a main format converting part(303) for converting the resolution of the normal images.
