FIELD: assembling lines. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying axial effort to rod of pusher for extending locking ring out of cone sleeve and for compressing elastic member by desired value; after compressing elastic member fixing it by means of stop and then releasing locking ring by removing applied axial force and placing it to initial position. Method is realized by means of apparatus having housing in which rod with stop and with pusher and cone sleeve are arranged. Apparatus includes in addition hydraulic cylinder mounted on rod and limiters of rod stroke. Stop is mounted on rod; pusher is mounted on hydraulic cylinder. EFFECT: reliable mounting of locking rings in assembled units having elastic parts. 2 dwg
