PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery power supply unit and a control method and an address setting method therefor wherein a plurality of combined battery set blocks are connected in parallel or serial parallel and a battery ECU is connected with each of the combined battery set blocks. SOLUTION: The battery ECUs 2a to 2f are connected with the respective combined battery set blocks 1a to 1f, and the battery ECUs 2a to 2f are connected to each other through a communication line 15. The battery ECUs 2a to 2f are so set that connections of a plurality of address setting terminals 13a to 13f and address lines 14 are different with respect to each of the battery ECUs 2a to 2f. If the occurrence of an anomaly is detected in any of the combined battery set blocks 1a to 1f through the communication line, the combined battery set blocks 1a to 1f identified by addresses are separated from the parallel or serial parallel connections by off-controlling make-and-break contacts 4a to 4f connected thereto.
