PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throttle device small in size and low in cost capable of reducing the electric power consumption of an electric driving means to add torque to a valve member. SOLUTION: The torque of a motor 20 is added to a throttle shaft 14 and the valve member 12 via a motor gear 22, an intermediate gear 24 and a driving gear 16. One end 32 of a coil spring 30 is engaged with a stopper 40. The other end 34 of the coil spring 30 makes contact with an engagement lever 18 between a totally closed position and an intermediate position to the opened side from the totally closed position, and the driving gear 16, the throttle shaft 14 and the valve member 12 are energized to the opened side of the throttle opening. The coil spring 30 energizing the driving gear 16 to the opened side from the totally closed side to the intermediate side is engaged with the other end 34 of a stopper 42 formed on a throttle body 11 at an intermediate position. The energizing force of the coil spring 30 is not added to the driving gear 16, the throttle shaft 14 and the valve member 12 between the intermediate position and a totally opened position.
