Described is a phosphoric acid salt of N-methyl-o-phenylenediamine according to claim 1, of general formula (I), wherein n is a number between 0.5 and 1.0 Also described is a process for preparing the above phosphoric acid salt of N-methyl-o-phenylenediamine, wherein the N-methyl-o-phenylenediamine is dissolved in a solvent and mixed with crystalline or dissolved phosphoric acid.
