PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device, a method therefor, a control program, and a recording medium capable of performing image processing, for example, error diffusion processing using an SIMD (single instruction stream multiple data stream) type computing processing part without using an auxiliary computation processing part for performing sequential processing. SOLUTION: This image processing device processing input image data by Y line whose one line is composed of X picture element using an SIMD type processor has a computation part 204 having element processors of the number of N (X>N>1, Y>N>1) and capable of operating in parallel, input parts 201, 202 for dividing image data of one line for every N pieces of picture elements and inputting them, a storage part 216 for storing the divided and inputted N pieces of picture elements data for N pieces of lines, and an image processing part 204 for supplying image data of the number of N among image data of N pieces of picture elements for N pieces of lines stored in the storage part to element processors of the number of N in the computation part, respectively, to make each element processor perform similar computation in parallel.
