PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for registering a URL to a portable terminal by which many URLs of web sites can be registered corresponding to many models of portable terminals. SOLUTION: Registration of URLs is made possible corresponding to many models of user terminals 2 and dealing with new models is also facilitated by providing the URL registration method with the steps of: identifying a model by connecting a registration terminal 1 for registering URLs to the user terminal 2 with the user terminal 2; downloading, to the registration terminal 1, a registration program in accordance with the identified model from a data presentation server 3 for presenting programs and data by communicating with the registration terminal 1; downloading a URL for link to be linked with the web site to be browsed by the user terminal 2 from the data presentation server 3 to the registration terminal 1; and registering the downloaded URL for link from the registration terminal 1 to the user terminal 2 by using the downloaded registration program.
