PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an expensive measuring instrument using a pressure distribution method must be used in measuring the interval between a pilot injection and a main injection. SOLUTION: Injection is performed (an interval injection step) during the interval by giving an ON signal to an electromagnetic spill valve from the time when the pilot injection is completed (the start of the interval) to the time when the main injection is started (the completion of the interval). This interval injection quantity Qps is measured by an injection quantity measuring unit (an interval injection quantity measuring step). Next, the interval is converted (a conversion step) from the correlation between the interval injection quantity Qps and the interval. Even when any expensive measuring unit is not used, the interval can be measured by the injection quantity measuring unit such as an inexpensive measuring cylinder. As a result, the cost for interval measurement during the adjustment in shipping can be suppressed.
