<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply improve the productivity of variable kind and variable quantity small lot production by applying this system to a sheet metal processing line having a pre-step processing cell and the subsequent post-step processing cell. <P>SOLUTION: In a sheet metal processing line having at least a first step processing cell and a subsequent second step processing cell, first the processing schedule of the second step processing cell is determined, and next the processing schedule of the first step processing cell is determined based on the processing schedule of the second step processing cell.
