PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To abridge a response time for retrieval, and to allow exact classification in response to dynamic change in significance of words and phrases for a user. SOLUTION: A device (method) is provided with a retrieval requirement input means 1 for receiving the words and phrases input by the user as retrieval- required words and phrases, a document retrieving means 2 for retrieving and outputting a document containing the retrieval-required words and phrases from an aggregate 4 of retrieval-objective documents, and a retrieved result displaying means 3 for grouping the documents containing related words and phrases high in a degree of association with the retrieval-required words and phrases out of the documents output from the document retrieving means 2, in the every related words and phrases, and for displaying the documents. The method of the present invention allows thereby classification processing in a short time compared with a clustering method or the like, and copes with the dynamic change in the significance of the words and phrases.
