PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the probability of detecting the held state of a disk when the disk is held between a guiding member and a transport means and introduced into a disk drive. SOLUTION: A disk D is held between a guiding member 11 and a transport means 20 to be transported, and the guiding member 11 and the transport means 20 are separated from the disk D when the disk D is clamped. After the completion of disk driving, the disk is held between the guiding member 11 and the transport means 20. At this time, when the disk becomes undetectable by a first detection switch 31 or a second detection switch 32, the holding operation by the guiding member 31 and the carrying means 20 is repeated, the disk is rotated in the held state, and the operational state of the detection switch is checked.
