Method for exchange of information between one or more vehicles (C1) and a monitoring center (2), whereby each vehicle has an onboard positioning system. The system has RF communications terminals (BRN5-8, BRNA-C), so that when a vehicle enters into a zone containing such a communications terminal data transfers can take place. The driver of a vehicle must approach a terminal for data exchange, with light indicators indicating that an exchange has taken place.
