<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high-accuracy and low-noise optical remote measurement. <P>SOLUTION: A measurement device 10 outputs laser light to an optical fiber 12. The laser light is propagated through the optical fiber 12 and is incident on a photosensor 14. The front end face 14a of the photosensor 14 reflects a part of the laser light from the optical fiber 12. The laser light transmitted through the end face 14a and incident on the photosensor 14 is reflected by the rear end face 14b, and a part of the reflected light is transmitted through the end face 14a and is inputted to the optical fiber 12. A phase of the laser light propagating through the photosensor 14 is modulated by temperature, sound pressure or the like of a measurement target. The light (signal light) phase-modulated by the measurement target inside the photosensor 14 and the light (reference light) reflected by the end face 14a of the photosensor 14 are inputted to a light receiver 24 through an optical circulator 22.
