<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image forming device by which a space is saved by reducing a dumper mechanism arrangement space and also various works such as an opening/closing work, a jam processing and the exchange of consumable goods are easily performed without deteriorating safety and a function in an electrostatic transfer belt unit. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with photoreceptor drums (image carrier bodies) 1a-1d, a scanner unit, a paper feeding part, a fixing part and the electrostatic transfer belt unit 25. The electrostatic transfer belt unit 25 is supported so as to be rotatable with a rotary axis (rotary spindle) 28a positioned at an upstream side with respect to a carrier direction as a center. The belt unit 25 is moved between a first position where the unit 25 forms the image on a transfer material and a second position where the various works for the jam processing and consumable goods exchange are performed. When the unit 25 is moved from the first position to the second position with the rotary axis 28a as a center, a dumper mechanism 35a for canceling moment which is generated on the rotary axis 28a of the unit 25 is arranged on the rotary axis 28a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
