<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method of a vanadium redox flow battery which can prevent that dent occurs in a discharge curve and time capacity deteriorates. <P>SOLUTION: This is the operating method of the vanadium redox flow battery wherein an electrolytic solution is used in which tetravalent vanadium ion changes to pentavalent vanadium ion in charging, and the reverse reaction occurs in discharging at a positive electrode. The electrolytic solution contains a positive electrode active substance of 2.0 (mol/l) or less. At the charge end, the operation is carried out so that the pentavalent vanadium ion in the positive electrode active substance becomes 90% or less. Further, the operation is carried out so that the average discharge output becomes 0.47 (W/cm<SP>2</SP>) or less in the discharging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
