<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire/rod profile measuring device capable of cooling its photoelectric sensor and assuring a high precision measurement while the construction remains small and simple. <P>SOLUTION: The profile measuring device for wire and rod materials is equipped with a cylindrical device body 30 having a hole 6a into which a wire or rod is inserted, a rotary drum 8 fitted rotatably on the device body 30 through bearings 9 and 10, a flange 18 installed at the end of the rotary drum 8 and fitted with the photoelectric sensor 19b to measure the profile of the wire/rod having passed through the hole 6a, and a driving mechanism to give a rotational force to the rotary drum 8, wherein the photoelectric sensor 19b is accommodated in a case 20b, and a fluid passage A is formed in the drum 8 and connected with the case 20 through a connecting pipe 21, and further fluid supplying means 31 and 13 are provided to supply a cooling gas to the passage A when the drum 8 is in rotation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
