PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusing apparatus having a pneumatic member for increasing fusing nip width and fusing dwell time. SOLUTION: The compact long nip fusing apparatus 100 is provided with a frame 102, a 1st rotatable member 104 to be mounted on the frame 102, a heat source 106 for heating the member 104, and a rotatable and compressable pneumatic member 110 forming a long fusing nip 108 against the member 104 for contacting and fusing a fusible image.
