<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a recording strategy in an optical disk apparatus capable of recording data. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 30 records test data in a PCA (prescribed area) of an optical disk 10 to calculate leading jitter and trailing jitter of a reproduction signal of the test data. When the level of the leading jitter is greater than the level of the trailing jitter by a prescribed level or over, it is decided that the radiation energy of a 3T pulse is excessive and the pulse width of the 3T pulse is decreased. Further, when the level of the trailing jitter is greater than the level of the leading jitter by a prescribed level or over, it is decided that the radiation energy of the 3T pulse is deficient and the pulse width of the 3T pulse is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
