<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture reproducing method and apparatus which enable a user to early confirm an entire moving picture. <P>SOLUTION: A moving picture storage device 12 of a server 10 stores encoded moving picture information while being rearranged in a specified frame order. A rearrangement apparatus 34 of a client terminal 30 rearranges encoded moving picture information received by a receiver 32 in the order of the frames of original standard reproduction streams by referencing the DTS/PTS and writes the results to a moving picture storage device 36. A storage state monitor 42 monitors a moving picture storage state of the moving picture storage device 36 and gives a monitor result to a controller 44. The controller 44 determines a reproduction frame by taking into account the monitor results of the storage state monitor 42 and instructs a decoder 38 to decode the determined reproduction frame. The decoder 38 reproduces the frame instructed from the controller 44 on the basis of the information stored in the moving picture storage device 36 and a display controller 40 applies an image signal decoded by the decoder 38 to a monitor 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
