PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce attenuation of a signal in a high frequency band of a giga- hertz band, by reducing a dielectric loss in an insulating layer of a high frequency coaxial cable. SOLUTION: In this coaxial cable having an internal conductor 1, the insulating layer 2, and an external conductor 3, the insulating layer 2 is composed of an inner layer 21 and an outer layer 22, and the inner layer 21 is composed of high density polyethylene having a phenol based antioxidant content of not more than 0.01 wt.% while the outer layer 22 is composed of high density polyethylene having a phenol based antioxidant content of 0.1-0.2 wt.%. The thickness of the inner layer 21 is preferably 5-10 times of the thickness of the outer layer 22, and for the phenol based antioxidant, one having a polar group percentage content of not more than 10% is preferably used.
