PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat exchanger not exhausting vapor and drain to the outside even when a large amount of uncondensed gas and vapor flow in at high speed. SOLUTION: A vapor supply port 2 and a cylindrical atmosphere release pipe 5 are attached to a heat exchanger container 1. A plurality of cooling fluid supply nozzles 9, 11, 12, 14, and a first mixture passing member 6 are attached in the heat exchanger container 1. A through hole 17 and a collision plate 15 as one part of a gas-liquid separating member are installed to the atmosphere release pipe 5. A third mixture passing member 8 is attached to the center of the atmosphere release pipe 5. As to the vapor and the uncondensed gas flowing from the vapor supply port 2, the vapor is condensed at the first mixture passing member 6, and gas and liquid are separated at the gas-liquid separating member, namely the collision plate 15, and a separating plate 21. The vapor is further condensed at the third mixture passing member 8, and finally the vapor is captured by a mesh member 26, so as to discharge only the uncondensed gas from an outlet opening 28.
