A method of therapeutically treating a diseased non-human animal suffering from a parasitic neurologic or abortigenic disease that is susceptible to being treated with a triazineone compound, comprising administering to the animal a pharmaceutically effective amount of the compound, with the proviso that when the disease is Sarcocystis neurona the compound is not diclazuril, toltrazuril, clazuril or letrazuril. Also described is a method of metaphylactically treating animals infected with a parasite that is a causative agent for a neurologic or abortigenic disease that is susceptible to being treated with a triazineone compound, comprising administering thereto a metaphylactially-effective regimen of the triazineone, with the proviso that when the disease is Sarcocystis neurona the compound is not diclazuril, toltrazuril, clazuril or letrazuril. Triazineone compounds are useful for therapeutically treating a diseased animal suffering from a parasitic neurologic or abortigenic disease that is susceptible to being treated with a triazineone compound, where the method comprises administrating to the animal a pharmaceutically effective amount of the compound, with the proviso that when the disease is Sarcocystis neurona the compound is not diclazuril, toltrazuril, clazuril or letrazuril.
