PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present an automatic picture seal vending device capable of sufficiently illuminating even a part which has been shadowed in a conventional automatic picture seal vending device and obtaining a bright and fine image up to the details to improve user's satisfaction and to improve the sales of facilities in which the device is installed. SOLUTION: The automatic picture seal vending method or device permits image pickup processing for illuminating one or more subjects in an image pickup space by an illumination means and picking up the image of the subject by an image pickup means to prepare a pickup image, permits processing for editing an image to be edited with an edit means to prepare an edited image and outputting a prescribed image by an output means. The illumination means is arranged on the lower side of the front on which the image pickup means is arranged and illumination is directed to an upper oblique direction toward the subject.
