PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To zero the consumption of power from an external power source at non-charging time in a power supply adaptor 1 and a portable device 12 with a secondary battery 14 built therein. SOLUTION: With respect to the power supply adaptor 1, the external power source is connected with the input of the charging portion 4 thereof through the contact side of a power switch 3 provided with an automatic turn-on function. The output of the charging portion 4 is connected with one-side end of a power coupling portion 11. With respect to the portable device 12, the secondary battery 14 is connected with the other-side end of the power coupling portion 11. When the portable device 12 is placed on the power supply adaptor 1, power is supplied in the backward direction from the secondary battery 14 to the power supply adaptor 1 through the power coupling portion 11.
