<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an easy to see stereoscopic image. <P>SOLUTION: In a virtual view point image generation for generating a stereoscopic image, adjusting the depth or the parallax adjusts the parallax between generated virtual view point images. A particular range in the image is selected by using various segmentation methods and entry using a GUI from a user even in the case of input parallax image resulting from photographing a complicated scene, and adjusting only the parallax or the depth in the particular area eliminates the need for revising the parallax or the depth of pixels in an unexpected area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
