PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relate again revised image processing control information to image data. SOLUTION: An image processing control information acquisition function section 21 searches image processing control information GI associated with image data GD and gives the result to an image processing control information interpretation function section 22. The image processing control information interpretation function section 22 interprets the received image processing control information GI and gives the result to an image processing function section 24 as defaults of each parameter for image quality adjustment. The image processing function section 24 executes image processing with respect to the image data GD according to the defaults of the received parameters. The image processing function section 24 updates the image processing control information GI on the basis of the revision when the defaults of the parameters are revised. When storage of the image data GD is requested, an image data storage function section 25 executes storage processing by the same name or another name. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
