PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration wave determination apparatus for determining the state of an object by a vibration wave capable of flexibly responding to the type change of the object. SOLUTION: A sound emitted by a product 3 is detected by a microphone 2. A wavelet transformation calculation unit 7 separates a frequency band specified by a parameter table 9 from an input signal waveform. The parameter table stores the frequency bands available for the determination for each product type. Correcting units 81, 82 execute weighing using coefficients specified by the parameter table for each separated frequency band. A result of the determination by a determination unit 11 is displayed on a display unit 12 and an alarm unit 13. The parameter table enables to flexibly respond to the difference in the product type. A high-speed processing is possible as the separation of the frequency band unnecessary for the determination is not carried out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
