<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a cleaner-less system having stable electrifying property even to equipment whose processing speed is about 200 mm/s without causing the rise of production cost in an image forming apparatus such as an electrophotographic copying machine or an electrophotographic printer in which the electrifying means for an image carrier is a contact injection electrifying means using conductive particles and which adopts the cleaner-less system. <P>SOLUTION: By recovering and discharging the excessively supplied conductive particles 40 to a transfer member 4 while maintaining electrification uniformity by functional separation type sequence such as the discharge of toner from an electrifying member 2, the supply of the particles 40 from a developing means 3 and the recovery of the particles 40 by the transfer member 4, the member 2 can carry the proper amount of particles 40 so as to improve a light shielding white spot caused by the accumulation of the excessive amount of particles 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
