<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is robust against vertical and horizontal shocks exerted on a portion, where a housing of an image reading unit and a body of the image forming apparatus are coupled, in a simple construction and assembly and can read an image of high quality. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus which is provided with an image read unit 11 having an image read means for moving a document placed still on a document bed glass to scan to read it, a hook 1 for fitting a housing 14 of the image read unit to a body 13 of the image forming apparatus and, a projection 2 for guiding the housing 14 parallel in its moving direction is provided for the housing 14, and a hole 3 for the hook 1 to fit thereto and, a recess 4 for guiding the housing 14 parallel in its moving direction in fitting the hook 1 to the hole 3 is provided for the body 13. The housing 14 is positioned on the body 13, and then is coupled to the body 13 by sliding the projection 2 along the recess 4 to fit the hook 1 to the hole 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
