<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can correctly arrange printing direction without caring about placing papers on a manual tray. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes the 1st image input measure which inputs the 1st image signal displaying the manuscript, an image forming measure which forms the image of the image signal on a medium, the 2nd image input measure which inputs the 2nd image signal showing the image on the medium, a control measure which controls the image of the image forming measure, the 1st manuscript direction determination measure which determines the manuscript direction and outputs the first determination result corresponding to the manuscript, and the 2nd direction determination measure which determines the printing face and direction of the image on the medium by the 2nd image signal and outputs the 2nd determination result corresponding to the medium.
