STREAM TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION SYSTEM, AND STREAM TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stream transmission/reception system capable of reducing a time required for reproduction start so as to improve the response.

SOLUTION: A storage device 101 of a video server apparatus 100 stores stream data. A control means 106 issues a reproduction request to a read means 103 when receiving a usual request from a user. The read means 103 issues the read request to the storage device 101 and writes data to a buffer 102. A transmission means 104 reads the stream data from the buffer 102 at a prescribed speed and transmits the data to a terminal 110. The buffer 102 newly reads data in response to a jump reproduction request of the user from the storage device 101 and the control means 106 issues a transmission request to a high-speed transmission means 105. The high-speed transmission means 105 reads the stream data in the buffer 102 at a speed faster than that of the transmission means 104 and transmits the stream data to the terminal 110 at high speed.
